The first retrospective dedicated to one of the most venerated painters of his time : Alexandre CabanelAround 300 paintings, sketches, stamps, photographs and sculptures are presented to the public.
These works, coming from famous internationals and nationals museums, enable to present a 19th century dedicated to the cult of all that is precious and beautiful.
The only exhibition in France is organized in Montpellier.
During February 2011, it will be presented in Cologne (Germany), but fewer works will be shown there.
This exhibition received the French label "Exposition d'intérêt national" (Exhibition with national interest).
