The performance draws its inspiration from many sources. Its very name means «lightness» in Spanish.

The power, and the mutation of power, over the ages, the passage from ancient monarchies to modern democracies, mixed with themes of old-age and youth, weave the background on which the Alegria characters perform. In this universe live the king’s jesters, minstrels, rogues, old aristocrats, children, and clowns - the only characters able to resist the changing times and their resulting social transformations.
